Deacon Isaac Wahlmeier's Homily for the 2nd Sunday of Lent - March 16, 2025
In today's homily, Deacon Issac reminds us that in today's gospel story of the Transfiguration, Jesus takes three of His closest friends to a secluded place, and offers them a glimpse of who he really is, a glimpse of his divine nature. In this moment, Jesus allows His humanity to become transparent, of who he actually is, of something far greater. Why does He do this? So that at the crucifixion, they will remember who He really is. In order for us to fully comprehend the transfiguration, Jesus reminds us that our citizenship is in heaven. We await our savior, who will change our lowly bodies, and the things that get in the way of us seeing this eternal glory, He will change us to conform with Him, to conform with His glorified body. Jesus gave a glimpse of who He is, so that we know what we are to become. Please share this podcast with someone who might benefit from hearing it, and have a blessed week.
