In today's homily, Msgr. Magee reminds us that Easter Sunday wasn't just a day that came and went, it was a day that changed humanity forever. Our Gospel continues from last week's story of the resurrection of Jesus on that first Easter Sunday morning . The disciples of Jesus are scared and hiding in a room, fearing that they could be next to be killed as friends of Jesus. He appears to them in the upper room, and greets them with the words, "Peace be with you." This is when Jesus institutes the sacrament of Reconciliation, and gives his apostles the ability to forgive sins in His name.
