Deacon Lou Hoelzle's Homily for The Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Our Lord, Jesus Christ - Sunday, June 22, 2025

St. Frances Cabrini Digital Communications Ministry

In today's homily, Deacon Lou reminds us of the great belief that is ours as Catholics. Today's feast of Corpus Christi celebrates the great truth that Jesus Christ, under the appearance of ordinary bread and wine, through the hands of the priest and the power of the Holy Spirit, becomes the actual body and blood, soul and divinity of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He tells us that our challenge as believers is to live the teachings of Jesus Christ because we have received him in the Eucharist. The gift of Jesus giving Himself to us at each Mass in the Eucharist  implies the giving of ourselves to others. Today's Mass was held in near total darkness due to a major power failure on Thursday, June 19th due to storms. Thank you to the parish staff who set up the generators that allowed us to produce this livestream for our parishioners. Have a blessed week!!
