Msgr. Magee's Homily for The Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul - June 29, 2025

St. Frances Cabrini Digital Communications Ministry

In today's Mass, we honor and celebrate the two apostles selected by Jesus Himself, to be the first leaders of the Catholic church. We are talking about St. Peter and St. Paul. This feast is always celebrated on June 29, and this year, it happened to fall on a Sunday. In his homily, Msgr. Magee explains how Jesus establishes these two great saints in roles that would become His authority in the world. Peter, a fisherman, would become a "fisher of men" according to God's own plan, and the first Pope of the Catholic church. Paul became became a proclaimer of the one that "he had once denied", and was instrumental in spreading the story of Jesus beyond Rome.  Please listen to this excellent homily, and share it with someone who will benefit from hearing it. Have a blessed week!!
