Msgr. Magee's Homily for the 22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time - Sunday, August 31, 2025

St. Frances Cabrini Digital Communications Ministry

In today's homily, Msgr. Magee reminds us of the Gospel's message for all of us, which is "HUMILITY". The scripture invites us to look at what true humility is, and what it is not. Being humble means knowing and thanking God for the gift of who we are, for the nature that He has given us, as a man or as a woman, and the place He has put us in this world. He gives a wonderful example of humility that comes from St. Theresa, the Little Flower. Thinking of the world as a garden, she says the the saints are represented by the lilies and the roses, while we, the majority of the garden is made up of the wildflowers, such as violets and daisies. There is a lot of excellent imagery in this well written homily by Msgr. Magee. Please take the time to listen to the message of today's homily, and let Jesus speak to your heart. Listen and share today's podcast, and Happy Labor Day!!
